Rajasthan Royals appointed Paddy Upton as their head coach for the Indian Premier League 2019.Upton was with the Royals as their head coach previously, for IPL 2013 – 2015. Apart from leading Royals, he has led Pune Warriors XI as the head coach in the 2012 season, and then served Delhi Dynamos (now Delhi Capitals) for two seasons in 2016 and 2017.He was also part of the support staff under Gary Kirsten that helped India win the 2011 World Cup.
He has also had several stints with T20 franchises around the globe, even helping Sydney Thunder overcome a terrible rut to win the BBL. He has also coached in the PSL apart from working with Cricket South Africa as their Performance Director.”It gives us immense pleasure to announce Paddy joining the team. Upton will join Steffan Jones, fast-bowling coach; Amol Muzumdar, batting coach; and Sairaj Bahutule, spin-bowling coach, in the Rajasthan Royals’ set-up.
