Yet another injury scare for Team India as players are busy nursing injuries. Kedar Jadhav and Vijay Shankar missed the first warm-up clash against New Zealand due to their respective injuries. And now another player – Hardik Pandya – has also suffered an injury scare just before the second warm-up clash.
Pandya suffered the injury during the practice session while one of the deliveries rose sharply at a great pace. The batsman got into an awkward position and thus got hit on his left underarm. Pandya was seen grimacing in pain and decided against continuing his batting. The right-handed batsman did not return to bat again.
However, it is more than likely that he would play the warm-up clash since the injury did not look too serious and was just a blow. But the team management could also decide to rest him as a precautionary measure.
The Baroda allrounder was in red-hot form in this year’s Indian Premier League, playing a big role in Mumbai Indians’ march to the title. The allrounder impressed with both bat and ball to finish the competition as one of the most impactful players. India, meanwhile, will be hoping that Pandya is fit and fine for the World Cup.
