English batsman Jason Roy has decided to pulled out of IPL 2022 citing the COVID-19 bubble as a problem to remain within the match for an extended interval.
Roy, who had represented Sunrisers Hyderabad final season was bought by Gujarat Titans, one of two new IPL teams for the following version, for his base price of INR 2 crore in the IPL 2022 auction. Roy had informed about his resolution to drag out from the event to Gujarat Titans last week. The franchise is yet to think about a substitute for the England opener.
This is the second time the English player is pulling out of the IPL, earlier he pulled out of the 2020 version as a consequence of private reasons after he was picked up by Delhi Capitals for INR 1.5 crore.
Notably, Roy, was lately blessed together with his second child, and had he opted to play he would have stayed away from his family for more than two months.
Roy has scored 329 runs in 13 IPL matches at a strike rate of 129.01 and an average of 29.90. He has previously played for Gujarat Lions (2017), Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) in 2018 and Sunrisers Hyderabad in last season.
