Anuj Rawat scored his maiden IPL fifty in just his fourth game while opening the batting for RCB against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022 on Saturday, April 9. Rawat got to fifty off just 38 balls, with four sixes and two fours.
19-year old wicket-keeper batsman Anuj Rawat is from Ram Nagar in Uttarakhand. Rawat made his first class debut against Assam and played an inspiring knock of 71 on his debut innings. Owing to his impressive performance in the first innings, Rawat was straight away promoted to an opener in the second innings.
In the 2020 IPL auction, he was bought by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2020 Indian Premier League. In mega auction ahead of TATA IPL 2022, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for whooping 3.4cr INR. Anuj Said about RCB following him, “They have been watching me for a couple of years. After a T20 tournament, RCB had asked me for my batting and wicket-keeping videos. They have now picked me and I am very happy about it.”
