Iyer holds the unique international T20 record over Kohli

The form of Shreyas Iyer, India’s biggest creditor in the just-concluded T20 series against Sri Lanka. The captain of Kolkata Knight Riders has scored an unbeaten half-century in three consecutive matches. Mumbai’s 27-year-old batsman is in fire form. In a few months, India will play the T20 World Cup in Australia. It can be said that Team India will be looking at Iyer’s bat.

Yesterday, India had the third and final T20 match of the ongoing three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka at Dharamsala. Iyer, who is in good form, played a match-winning innings of 63 off 45 balls. In the previous two matches, Iyer scored 56 and 64 runs respectively. According to the statistics, Iyer has now reached the top in terms of scoring the most runs in the three-match bilateral T20 series in the country’s jersey. He left behind Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

The highest run scorer for India in the bilateral T20 series is:

Shreyas Iyer 204 (opponent Sri Lanka, 2022)
Virat Kohli 199 (opponent Australia, 2016)
Virat Kohli 183 (opponent West Indies, 2019)
KL Rahul 184 (opponent West Indies, 2019)
Rohit Sharma 159 (opponent New Zealand, 2021)

The record for a half-century hat-trick for India in the smallest format of cricket was previously held by only three batsmen. Kohli, Rahul and Rohit. Iyer is a new member of that club. If you keep an eye on international cricket, you will see that only David Warner is ahead of Iyer. He scored 218 runs in a three-match bilateral series against Sri Lanka. Salta was 2019. A pair of half-centuries and a century came from Warner’s bat.
