Finisher Suryakumar Yadav and Fast bowler Deepak Chahar have been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Suryakumar, who was adjudged Player of the Series in the T20Is against West Indies, is the second Indian player to be out of the Sri Lanka T20Is. Deepak Chahar has also been ruled out of the upcoming games in Lucknow and Dharamsala after picking up a hamstring injury in Kolkata.
Deepak sustained a right quadriceps injury during bowling in Kolkata. After dismissing the West Indies openers in the run chase, Chahar walked off the field holding his hamstring without completing his second over.
Suryakumar sustained a hairline fracture injury on his hand while fielding in during a fielding attempt in the third and final T20I against the West Indies in Kolkata on Sunday. They will now head to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further management of their injuries.
